Maketh Man - A family run business supplying barbershops and boutique stores with premium, hand-crafted skin and beard care.

Established in 2018, under the name ‘Misce Botanicals’, husband and wife team Steve and Jules Collier, began formulating skin care and home fragrance from their Taranaki based studio.

With over 25 years as a qualified aroma scientist and cosmeceutical trainer, Jules' expertise in botanical extracts and plant oils forms the foundation of every hand-crafted formula.

Every ingredient is extensively researched for its scientific seal of approval, as well as its environmental impact, before being consciously sourced. Each new formulation is then handed over to discerning barbers and gentlemen of Aotearoa for trial before being packaged sustainably.

After receiving the ‘Runners up award’ in 2022 from the NZ Beard Awards for their ‘Black Amber’ beard oil, Jules and Steve decided a standalone brand was needed and launched the ‘Maketh Man’ label. So why the name?

“Maketh Man encapsulates everything we wanted our brand to stand for: Ingredients with substance, quality over quantity, ethics over bravado and no marketing gimmicks.”
